Espresso: Brazil Brioschi Family

Osito provides us with this delicious new House Espresso.  The Brioschi family arrived in Brazil from Italy and started immediately producing coffee. Over the years they improved the farm operations significantly, resulting in this red and yellow catuai blend. This classic Brazil gives us notes like almonds, chocolate and some berry acidity from the yellow catuai. Enjoy!

The Brioschi family began working immediately upon their arrival from Italy to Brazil in 1950 and started growing coffee. In 1985 Anacleto Brioschi started with the help of Antonio, Reginaldo and Gilberto, the farm exclusively to plant with coffee and move away from other crops. Until in 1999 they were able to purchase a Zero to ensure the quality and to further improve all elements of coffee preparation on the farm.

The farm is now planted with 20,000 Arabica trees, mainly with Catucai as well as Red and Yellow Catuai. The Brioschi family takes when always take part in local training, courses and seminars to improve quality. Currently they are taking part as volunteers r esearch producers at the Federal Institute of Espirito Santo took part. Through these courses and others have found ways to fertilize, prune and improve post-processing techniques. Overall, they were able to have recorded continuous increases in quality and are now able to regularly serve coffees with an SCA score of 84-85 points
to produce.
